Plan your day in five minutes

A good plan doesn't need an hour. Here is a five minute routine you can repeat every morning.

Minute 1: dump

Write down everything you might do today: assignments, calls, errands, small chores. Don't judge or sort yet. Getting it out of your head makes it feel lighter.

Minute 2: date it

Give each task a due date. Anything that does not need to happen today belongs on another day in the Week view. A realistic Today list is short.

Minute 3: sort it

Use the Matrix to see what matters. Two or three tasks in Do First is plenty for one day.

Minute 4: pick your first task

Choose the one task you would be happiest to have finished by lunch. Start there.

Minute 5: start a timer

Open Pomodoro, choose a length and press start. Beginning is the hardest part, and a timer makes beginning easy.

At the end of the day

Tick off what you finished, and move the rest to tomorrow without guilt. Your streak counts any day you complete at least one task, so a small win still keeps it alive.
