Privacy Policy

TaskBaddie (“we”, “us”) is run by Shivank Kanitkar in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. This policy explains what we collect when you use taskbaddie.app, and the choices you have. Questions? Email skanitkar43@gmail.com.

The short version

  • You can use TaskBaddie as a guest. Guest tasks stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
  • If you create an account, we store your name, email address and your tasks so they can sync across your devices.
  • We don’t sell your data, and we don’t show ads. We use Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to see how the site is used (see below).

What we collect

  • Account details: your name and email address, and your password (stored only in a scrambled, one-way form — we cannot read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
  • Your tasks: task titles, quadrant, due date and whether they are done, plus your reminder preferences — only if you have an account.
  • Usage data: anonymised clicks, scrolls and page views collected by Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics (see the Analytics sections below).
  • On your device: TaskBaddie saves your tasks, settings and streak in your browser’s local storage so the app works offline and as a guest. Clearing your browser data removes it.
  • Technical data: like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (for example IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability.
  • Payments: if you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by Dodo Payments. We never see or store your card details; we only receive confirmation of your plan status.

How we use it

  • To run the app: sign you in, save and sync your tasks.
  • To send emails you ask for, such as sign-in messages and, in future, task reminders you switch on.
  • To manage paid plans and answer support requests.
  • To keep the service secure and fix problems.

Music and YouTube

The Music tab plays videos with YouTube’s embedded player. When you play music, YouTube (Google) may collect data about your use of the player and set cookies, under its own rules. By playing music you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s data practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy. TaskBaddie does not host or copy the music, and music is free on every plan.

Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use TaskBaddie, for example where they click and scroll, so we can improve it. Clarity may set cookies and record anonymised interactions and screen activity. Passwords and other sensitive fields are masked, and we configure Clarity to mask text on the page. Data is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It may set cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. See how Google uses data in the Google Privacy & Terms pages. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Who we share data with

We use a few trusted services to run TaskBaddie. They process data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — database and sign-in. Our project is hosted in Tokyo, Japan.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Microsoft — Clarity usage analytics.
  • Google Analytics — visit statistics.
  • Google — YouTube player, and Google sign-in if you choose it.
  • Dodo Payments — payments for paid plans (merchant of record).
  • Resend (or a similar email service) — sending emails you request, once enabled.

We may disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account or ask us to. Server logs are kept for a short period by our hosting provider.

Your choices

  • Access, correct or delete: email us and we will respond within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your profile and tasks.
  • Stay a guest: you don’t need an account to use TaskBaddie.
  • Sign out: signing out clears your account’s tasks from that device; they remain safe in your account.

Children

TaskBaddie is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
